Propertymark approached the Quidvista team in November 2022 with a requirement for a “Learner Portal’ product for their Qualifications team.
In its role as the national association for estate agents, valuers and other property professionals, Propertymark offers a number of continued professional development qualifications for its members.
Across the four member countries of the United Kingdom, agency staff members undertake study, testing and certification to ensure their knowledge remains current and appropriate to the industry.
Propertymark outsources it’s testing and results services but needed a single-point website where users could register, sign up for qualifications, make payments for testing and receive their results, progress data and carry out all the necessary admin tasks related to this. With a new set of qualifications looming for go-live, launch at the end of January 2023 was always going to be hard work.
The product required its own back-end database design and a front end that worked on both desktop and mobile devices. In addition, it needed a gateway to Stripe for payments and integration with the API of two data providers to ensure registration and results data were shared with and received from the providers for such.
Working alongside staff members from Propertymark and the two third-party organisations, we were able to build a solution based entirely on open-source software products and hosted on a scalable, cloud-based platform with AWS. The solution was delivered slightly ahead of the deadline despite staff members from all sides being off over Christmas and New Year, and the product has some 9,500 active users within its first year. Quidvista has been approached to tender for modifications and enhancements to this product and has an additional three projects underway with other departments of Propertymark as a result of our initial success in delivering this.
